Booklist Review

Blue Morgan is finishing his career with the marines and looks forward to helping out on his family's cattle ranch. He will be working with the horses tourists will ride, and this brings him into frequent contact with feisty veterinarian Jenna. She tires of his bossiness but discovers she can count on him to back her up after she is blamed for mishandling an ill horse. He knows they are attracted to each other, but he tells her he can't be in a relationship now because he has to concentrate on his career change and on helping his brother, Chase, investigate the long-ago disappearance of their mother and sister. Then Blue learns he has a 10-year-old daughter. Jenna tries to move on and date someone else, but she and Blue continue to be drawn together. The second Morgan Ranchseries title, following The Reluctant Cowboy (2016), captures the spirit of the West in a charming contemporary romance. Blue and Jenna, both so smart, appeal both alone and together while they fall in love. Fans of Pearce may also enjoy Carolyn Brown.--Alessio, Amy Copyright 2017 Booklist
